The vineyard
It was in 1850 that RENUCCI family first started working with the vine and so began the story of "Domaine RENUCCI".
At that time, the vineyard extented to only two hectares planted with sciacarellu, niellucciu and vermentinu vines yet. In 1855, a senior member of the family Ange-François RENUCCI - who was bishop and part-owner of the vineyard - began to offer the rosé wine to convents and churches in the area in their celebrations of Mass. It is from this moment that the rosé and white became renowned in La Balagne. This tradition continued until 1960 after the Domaine was inherited by Joseph RENUCCI in 1952 and who continued until 1991 when his son Bernard RENUCCI, the current winemaker, took over operations.
The vineyard is part of the AOC Calvicertification region and Domaine RENUCCI now extends to 20 hectares of vines spread over 6 vineyards comprising both Corsican and Mediterranean varietals.
